My year so far in Room 16 by Zeb

My favourite thing about being in Room 16 in 2013 is the people in this class are really nice and fun.

Something I would like to do in term four is play T ball.

Something I would like to do next year is use computers.

My dream jobs would be a writer or a director like George Lucas.

Reading

The best thing about reading so far this year is I get to use Actively learn.

The best thing I read this year was Ozzie Kingsford book. I liked it because I was really funny.

This is my favourite reading blog post Letter to Ken Catran with trailer that I created. I chose it because Dead Harry is one of my favourite suberb books in the world!

This is my favourite reading post from someone else is Inderpreet’s Literacy Circle And Hatchet Assignments. I think it is awesome because It was really cool to read and Inderpreet told me his experience in the literacy circle.

Maths

The best thing about maths so far this year is that there is a fun symbaloo to help me.

I was most proud of learning lots of strategies. I was proud because I didn’t know much before.

This is my favourite maths blog post is my Basic Facts Results that I created. I chose it because I had fun learning how to make a chart on Google Docs.

This is my favourite maths post from someone else is Teva’s post. Multiply. I think it is awesome because last year I had some trouble with 5x. And I think Teva would have really helped.

Writing

The best thing about writing so far this year is I know much more than I did last year and I understand more about writing.

I was most proud of learning how to enjoy writing. I was proud because Before I was in a digi class, I felt like writing was a chore.

This is my favourite writing post from someone else is Teva’s The lighting Track Part 1. I think it is awesome because It’s really really interesting, It like sucks you in.

I am really good at Short sharp sentences, punctuation, beginning in the action, strong verbs, humour, typing fast, having fun writing.

I want to get better at Being more intense. (More action)

Integrated Topic

My favourite part of topic has been science experiments. I enjoyed it because It’s really cool to see what happens.

This is my favourite topic blog post is my How To Survive In The Bush.that I created. I chose it because It took a lot of work but it was really fun.

This is my favourite topic post from someone else is Teva’s My Minecraft Taj Mahal. I think it is awesome because he was the only one who did it this way.

Dear Ken Catran,

My name is Zeb. My class has just finished reading your book Dead Harry. I loved Dead Harry so much that on book character day I dressed up as Sam on the front of the book. Is it Sam or Harry on the book? I really think it’s Sam. Dead Harry is by far one of my favourite book along with Kensuke’s Kingdom, Wonder, Guys Read and well Star Wars books; I am a BIG Star Wars fan. I either want to be a writer, a soccer player or a film maker. If I was a writer I would write children books aged 2 to 8. I would write animal diaries, like dog diary (that’s on my blog), or a chapter book writer just like you. If I was a soccer player I would be an All White. If I was a filmmaker I want to be just like George Lucas. I would also like to be in Team New Zealand for Yachting. I think I have a real talent for driving. I have driven a Optimist Dinghy.

My favorite character in Dead Harry was Harry because he was the source of humour, and the cool stuff he can do. Sam and Harry are like me and my best friend. He is a good writer too. Elias Milton is cool as well. I think it’s cool that he doesn't get stuck as an earth bound spirit. Same with Harry. At the end, can Harry come back and see Sam? That really bugs me. I thought Mr Dombroski was going to be behind all that crimes and murders. But no. It was a shock really. How did you come up with such a twist? It’s brilliant.

My favourite part in the book was the most intense part. This was in the chapter where Sam, Anna and Harry are in the locked cupboard. I knew Sam and Anna was going to be ok, but I didn’t know how. But that’s the point. Sometimes Mr M (that’s my teacher) has to keep on reading because the class won’t let him stop. My other favourite Part was Anna with the POOPA SCOOPA! The class was cracking up about that.

 Reflection For Yachting Day 3

Something I was pleased with was I got Teva to have fun in the yachts, because I am a great driver.

I really enjoyed learning that I am a better driver in the kayaks then I thought, because I did some maneuvering around sharp corners.

Something I found hard was getting Teva to stop freaking out, because Teva wouldn't stop.

Something that made me think was which way should I steer the yacht, because I had to go into the wind.

Something I want to get better at is making the yacht go faster.

I can practice.

Reflection for Optimist Yachting Day 2

Something I was pleased with was I got to kayak in a single kayak, because last time I had to go in a double kayak.

I really enjoyed learning that when you are about to capsize losen the sail and you won’t tip, because the wind is on your side. If the wind is on your side, and you tighten the sail it WILL tip.

Something I found hard was pushing my boom back onto the mast, because it came off.

Something that made me think was am I going have a turn at yachting because when my class arived at Pandora Pond the yachts were sailing away.

Something I want to get better at is finding the fast spots in the wind when I’m going yachting.

         

(What can I do about it?)

I can keep sticking my finger up in the wind.

Optimist Yachting Reflection Day 1

Something I was pleased with was I didn’t capsize, because I was careful.

I really enjoyed learning that an adult can capsize in a small yacht, because it’s kind of funny to watch.

Something I found hard was paddling against the current in the kayak, because I was in a double kayak.

Something that made me think was how am I going to get all my wet clothes dry? Because I don’t have a dryer.

Something I want to get better at is controlling the yacht better.
